Jinseki International School (JINIS) is Japan's first full-boarding primary school for students in Grades 1- 6, founded in 2020.
Our JINIS campus is set in 83 hectares of a spectacular environment in the Jinseki Plateau in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.

The JINIS curriculum integrates the International Primary Curriculum (IPC: accreditation pending) with the Japanese curriculum guidelines as an "Article 1" school accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education. This integration provides a holistic global education in the primary stage.

As a full-boarding primary school, JINIS implements a 24-hour learning environment with a family atmosphere.
JINIS also values gastronomy, such as the concept of "Umami" and local production for local consumption.

Teaching position

General description A successful applicant will work as a class teacher, teaching various subjects, along with an appointed teacher for Japanese language and literacy for their class, and managing a small-sized class (maximum of 16 children). As this is a boarding school, the role will also involve education in a broader sense, including pastoral care.
Requirement Has a university or postgraduate degree.
Holds a valid primary school teaching licence with over 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
Has interest and understanding in global education.
Has good knowledge about Project Based Learning.
Understands school’s philosophy and passionate about working with children.
Has English proficiency to deliver classes in English.
Proficient in technology.
Working hours Variable working hours over a one-year period (average of 40 hours per week).
Remuneration Annual salary (to be determined based on experience, age, previous salary).

Boarding houseparent position

General description

All pupils live in dormitory accommodation. This is to provide a setting to help young people from around the world to acquire communication skills and develop consideration for others through close contact with adults in a stress-free learning environment. Successful applicants will live in as house parents, occupying accommodation adjacent to the living space of the children in the same building.

Specifically, they will:
・Assist with everyday living from the time classes end until bedtime, while pupils are in bed and from the time pupils rise in the morning to the start of classes. (Meal preparation, cleaning and laundry are handled by specialist staff.)
・Communicate information to parents about how their children are faring in the boarding.

Eligibility requirements Capable of living at the school either as a married couple or as an individual.
Has a primary school teaching license, kindergarten teaching license or childcare certificate (required by at least one of the two spouses in the case of married couples).
Has a good understanding of global education.
Identifies with the school’s philosophy and can bring passion to the job.
Has everyday English conversation ability.
Has basic knowledge of how to use a PC.
Working hours Split work shift (during school term) Start: 6:00PM End: 9:00AM next day
At other times Start: 8:00AM End: 5:00PM
※2021 academic year holidays Summer: June 19 – September 3, Winter: December 8 – January 8, Spring: March 19 – March 31
